To the leadership of the United States, the media corporations, and the citizens who value peace and democracy:
We urgently demand an immediate halt to the increasing militarization of the United States. The escalation of military presence, aggressive foreign policy, and prioritization of defense spending over public welfare endangers global peace and undermines democratic institutions.
Next time this happens: I will personally keep this protest on gnomeradio.org until October 8th, 2025. The software will continue to run, but there will be no Public U.S. streams following the 1.1 Billion Media Cut of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting in August 2025.
From January 2026 onward, only BBC World Service will be pushed on our platform, and no Mazda commercials will be broadcast on Vermont Public Radio. This decision reflects the seriousness of the situation and our refusal to contribute to propaganda or corporate militarism.
The United States has undergone profound transformation between 1945 and 2015, transitioning from a post-World War II nation toward periods of de-nazification and democratization.
